Computer Workstations

The library's public access computer workstations are configured for research. Word processing and other applications may be accessed during library hours. Student users must have a student picture ID and community users must have a library card to use the computers. Users must enter the last nine digits of the library card barcode on the back of their student picture ID or library card to log onto the workstations. Library policy prohibits access to email or chat rooms.

We are pleased to provide information technology resources at Piedmont Community College. We hope that you find these resources helpful as you pursue you studies, and we are happy to provide computer, site-licensed software, and Internet access to make your studies both rewarding and enjoyable. Users of the Learning Resources Centers are expected to follow Piedmont Community College’s Technology Resources Usage Acceptable Use policy.

Fax Service

A fax machine is available for public use. See LRC staff for assistance. The charge is $1.00 per page. Incoming faxes may be picked up at the Circulation/Reference Desk.

Interlibrary Loan

Students, faculty, and staff may borrow materials from other libraries (North Carolina Community College Libraries) in the area, state, or region that are unavailable in either PCC campus library. Although borrowing books is usually free, users must pay for photocopies. To request a book or article through interlibrary loan, complete an Interlibrary Loan Request Form online for a book or an article.

Library Instruction

Each student is required to attend an LRC orientation. Individual and group instruction in using library resources is available upon request. You may schedule an instruction session with the Reference Librarian, Person County Campus, the Campus Librarian, Caswell County Campus, or the Dean, LRC.

Library Surveys

Surveys allow the LRCs to measure how well we are providing services to the College, and the LRCs are able to take the information gathered from the surveys and make changes to provide better services.
